DIÓHÉJBAN
Makkai István (sz. Marosvásárhely, 1983), szobrász, vizuális művész. A Kolozsvári Művészeti és Formatervezői Egyetemen tanult, alapfokon 2002-2006 és mesterképzőn 2006-2008 között. Tagja a Romániai Képzőművészek Szövetségének és a Barabás Miklós Céhnek. Csoportos és egyéni tárlatokon rendszeresen állít ki, művésztelepek meghívottja, munkáit több pályázaton díjazták. Munkái helyet kaptak számos művészeti intézmény gyűjteményében (Bukarest, Budapest, Sepsiszentgyörgy, stb.). Egyéni és együttműködésekben megvalósult köztéri alkotásai megtalálhatók Kolozsváron, Marosvásárhelyen, Backamadarason, Barantón, Torboszlón és Mila 23 településen. Az alkotás mellett épületszobrászattal és műemlékrestaurálással is foglalkozik.
SHORT BIO
István Makkai (b. Târgu Mures, 1983), sculptor, visual artist. Studied at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, where he completed an undergraduate degree (2002-2006) and a master's degree (2006-2008). He is a member of the Romanian Association of Fine Artists and the Barabás Miklós Guild. He exhibits regularly in group and solo settings, he is often invited to art camps, and he has won prizes in several competitions. His works can be found in the collections of many art institutions (Bucharest, Budapest, Sfântu Gheorghe, etc.) His public works, both individual and created in collaborations, can be seen in Cluj Napoca, Târgu Mureș, Păsăreni, Barantó, Torboslău and in Mila 23. In addition to art, he also works in architectural sculpture and monument/sculpture restoration.
